FPA Awards 2010: Innovation, convenience and sustainability in flexible packaging| The Flexible Packaging Association gave the international awards to the best innovations in flexible packaging, last March 2010, in the Flexible Packaging Achievement Awards, recognizing truly innovative achievements in the industry. Conversion magazine presents the winners, as well as its main attributes in all categories. Functionality, convenience, innovation and sustainability were the main criteria.

Reuse, Recycle and Reduce: Carpak’s strategy | Thanks to Aproflex, a system for the recover of manufacturing waste from its flexible packaging division, Colombian company Carpak S.A. receive an award in environmental management. This new system allows the company to reduce 89% its waste.

The Life Expectancy of Plates | One of the most difficult questions to answer in our industry is, “How long should my plate last?” Or, in other words, “How many feet should I expect to get out of my photopolymer plates?” Considering the number of factors that must be taken into consideration, certainly anyone faced with this question should hesitate at least momentarily before answering.
